Product details
Set it at the edge of a gravel bed and it reads like a single bloom pushing up through hard ground — quiet, deliberate, catching whatever light happens to be passing through. The Axel Blossom is the companion piece to the Axel Agave: same studio, same hands, same conviction that a yard deserves one real sculpture more than ten disposable objects.
Each Blossom is handcrafted from heavy-gauge steel in the Los Angeles studio, shaped petal by petal, then finished in one of five color treatments — from high-polish silver to oxidized rustic patina. The finish is applied by hand and sealed to live outside: sun, rain, and salt air won't age it the way they'd age a thinner piece. Subtle variations from piece to piece are the signature of real handwork, not a defect.
Standing 18" tall with a weighted base that holds in wind. Works in a garden bed, on a patio, flanking an entryway, or indoors on a console as a standalone sculpture. Includes a stainless hardware kit for ground anchoring. Care: wipe clean with a damp cloth; reapply outdoor sealer annually if installed in coastal climates.

Materials & Craft
Materials & Craft
Heavy-gauge steel, handcrafted in Los Angeles.
The base is continuous with the leaves — steel all the way down, no separate plate bolted on. Every piece is one integrated sculpture.
Finish: weatherproof patina, torch-treated by hand. Color deepens slightly over the first few weeks outdoors, then stabilizes.
Every sculpture is one of a kind. Small variations in finish, leaf shape, and texture are part of the handcrafting process. No two are identical.
Made by Alexander Archondakis.

What is the Ground Anchor Kit?
What is the Ground Anchor Kit?
A pre-drilled base plate with a 3/8 in steel stake for in-ground installation. +$20.
Choose it if you're installing in:
- Windy locations
- Gravel, decomposed granite, or loose-soil settings
- Any spot where the sculpture might shift or blow over
How it works: drive the stake into the ground, slide the sculpture onto the stake. No concrete required.
Skip it if: you're displaying the sculpture on a patio, deck, or indoor surface. The freestanding base is stable on its own in those cases.
What is the Outdoor Seal Finish?
What is the Outdoor Seal Finish?
A clear, weatherproof topcoat applied by hand over the painted finish. +$10.
Recommended for:
- High-sun exposure (desert, Southwest, poolside)
- Salt air (coastal homes, within a few miles of the ocean)
- Frequent rain or snow (Pacific Northwest, Northeast, Midwest)
The standard unsealed finish is already built to last outdoors for years. The seal is a precaution for tougher climates — adds a bit of gloss and extends the life of the color.
Not needed for indoor display or mild climates.
